In my previous semester (4th) we had to build a project on a topic of our choice. It was a group project and we were given a time limit of 1 week for idea presentation then another 2 weeks for project completion and report submission.
Step 1. Figuring out the group and topic
Deciding the group was a fairly because they were basically my roommates (all three of us live in the same room at college hostel)
Now comes the interesting part, deciding the topic. For that we decided for having an hour of group discussion with 2 simple rules
- If any two members agreed on a topic then that topic will be finalised.
- The topic must be decided in the given time limit.
In the end it was decided that we will make a Body Fat predictor.
Now, after finalising the topic, our next task was planning all the details, what all the things to be included in our project, how work was to be divided, who will be the lead for the project.
Presentation
So for planning all the details related to the predictor model was given to my friend because of him having previous experience in training models as such he has done in his many other previous projects.
And for the data set on which the model was to be trained was taken from kaggle. But the dataset was very small but we weren’t able to find any other data so in the end we decided to go with that dataset only.
So, it was decided that all the slides related to model training, dataset etc will be prepared and presented by my machine learning friend.
Now all the work left was to prepare the idea, the importance, the value it will produce and all the small parts of our presentation.
Project
So in this part also It decided that all the machine learning related work was to be given to our ML friend and the remaining two guys will work on the frontend of the website we will be building and writing documentation regarding our project.
